Overview of Break Out Sessions:

A. Love of God led by Pastor Lisa
Hello there my lovelies! I am Pastor Lisa, one of the pastors at New Horizon. I will be guiding us through some spiritual disciplines to help us connect to God in a real way in this session. Sounds intimidating maybe? You might think “but I don’t have extra time”, “I don’t know how to pray properly”, “I don’t know the Bible well enough”. Let’s see together how we can make it easier (and maybe even fun) to show God our love and appreciation.

B. Love of Self led by Amy Vigil
Hi I am Amy Vigil and I am so much more than the pastor’s wife. I am very excited to share my passion for self-care and health with all of you. It is this passion that led me to become an RN with a focus on nutrition, exercise and healthy living. Just as you cannot run a car on an empty tank, we cannot give and share love when we are depleted and our tanks our empty. Come discover a few small, simple ways to incorporate self-care into your daily life that will nurture and care for your mind, body and spirit. We will talk about and share about nutrition, exercise and all the things that can build our energy and fill our tanks.

C. Love of Others led by Pastor Peytyn & Angela Cring
Hi Ladies, I am so excited about this Retreat. I am Pastor Peytyn, one of the Pastors here at New Horizon and the Director of Nourishing Lives. My word for the year is LOVE and this day Is all about Love. My verse for the year is 1 Corinthians 14:16, “Let all you do be done in Love.” We are going to focus on the doing part –loving families and serving in love. I can’t wait for you to meet some special friends as we “Love others” in our session. Every day, I pray we Nourish Lives with heart!
I am Angela Cring the Assistant Director to the in-house food pantry and mission – Nourishing Lives. We are going to be talking about what is means to get outside the walls of the church and to love the community. Everyone has something to give that can make a big impact. We are going to get our hands a little dirty and do just that. Nourishing Lives is currently feeding 150 families a week with the help of over 45-60 volunteers weekly. Our session will be talking about the how, why, where and when we do it and how you can explore the conversation about feeding your community into your social circles.

D. Make it Take it led by Lauren Lewis
Hi wonderful gals! My name is Lauren and I am so thrilled that I was invited to do the craft session of our retreat for many reasons. First of all, I’m excited about our theme centered around love because it will encourage us all and give us a much-needed boost during this challenging time. Secondly, I have a huge passion for crafts…I mean HUGE! No joke, I travel with my glue gun! Thirdly, the craft project we will be doing is easy but very meaningful and will serve as a special remembrance of our uplifting day together at this year’s retreat. I look forward to a fun, spirit-filled day with you all!

Our Rainbow Room will be a quiet place of calm.

“Love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your being, and all your strength.”

               Deuteronomy 6:5

“Teacher, what is the greatest commandment in the Law?” He replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your being, and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: You must love your neighbor as you love yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”
