MUSIC & WORSHIP ARTS

This area of our ministry supports and enhances church worship by using multiple disciplines within the Arts to connect with people spiritually.
New Horizon welcomes all who have been blessed with the gift of music to participate in our ministries! Please find below a list of the many opportunities available.

Make a Joyful Noise

“Then David and all Israel played music before God with all their might, with singing, on harps, on stringed instruments, on tambourines, on cymbals, and with trumpets.”
-1 Chronicles 13:8

Chancel Choir

One of the biggest “small groups” in our church. The Chancel Choir helps lead our Traditional Service. Rehearsals are held each week in the Sanctuary from 7:30-9:30pm, after Wednesday Family Night classes. This is an open group, so if you enjoy singing, please come join us!

Christmas Cantata

Each year the Music Ministry presents a Christmas Cantata on the 3rd Sunday of Advent . We welcome all who wish to be a part of this special season. No long term commitment to the music program is necessary. Rehearsals are on Wednesday at 8:00 PM from October till the performance date in December. Following our cantata we also have our Music & Worship Arts Christmas pot-luck luncheon party. Join us! You’ll love it!

Worship Team

This “fluid” group uses church members as well as guest musicians, and leads our Contemporary Service. Rehearsals are held each Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00pm in the Sanctuary. Audition is required. Singers and instrumentalists that feel their talents might complement this group are welcome.

Handbell Choir

This inter-generational group is made up of those who have music reading skills. Rehearsals are held each week in the Music Room from 6:30-7:30pm, during the Wednesday Family Night class time.

Technology Department

For those with an interest in computers, audio and visual and graphic design, this is the department for you! We utilize all the latest software to generate an exciting presentation for Sunday morning—both movies and slides. During our services, we need people to set up and control the Sound Board, and additional folks to run the computer that controls our screens. During the week, we need volunteers to generate the beautiful screens we use during our services.
